Panties & Porkchops: Who Is Kat Stacks?

Panties & Porkchops follows the life of Keri Lathan, a chick who doesn’t mind documenting her obsession with sexual taboos and the midnight snacking that ensues.

It’s been quite an eventful week for this little lady. First, I met a young fellow while I was walking my awesome dog. It was a bit out of the ordinary to strike up a conversation with a total stranger IRL as opposed to the Internets. After about a half an hour of extended small talk, with my dog growing increasingly restless, we finally exchanged numbers. Everything was great until he gave me his number and said, “Don’t do me like Kat Stacks though, that’s no bueno.” I obviously laughed at his obvious attempt at a joke, but in all actuality, I had no idea what he was talking about. Until I googled “Kat Stacks“.

Have I been living under a rock?! The self-proclaimed “Queen of the media” is perhaps one of the most popular personalities on Twitter, next to Ashton of course. So who is Kat Stacks? Well it depends on who you ask. To some, she is most known for calling out rappers that she has slept with on the Internet, sharing their personal cell phone numbers with YouTube viewers and providing details about their sexual exploits. Her constant targets for her verbal melee are the members of Young Money, Joe Budden, Bow Wow, and my personal favorite: Aaron Carter! Not only does she publicly berate these men, she also pulls her signature move: she snatches their chains. Which to us regular folk doesn’t seem like such a big deal, but if you’ve seen a music video or two in the past I don’t know, ten years, you would know that a rapper’s chain is a focal point of their persona.

So who is this girl that has single-handedly changed the landscape of how rappers (and their groupies) use Twitter to leverage their popularity? The jury is still out on that one. A simple google search for her turns up with numerous videos of her getting “beat down” but very little tangible information about her is ever found. The little that we do know is that she was born in Carcas, Venezuela with a birth name of “Andrea”. She emigrated to Miami, Florida which is where the father of her child coined her new name “Kat” when she was fifteen years old. She eventually moved to Brooklyn, New York and any personal information about her after this point seems sketchy and unclear. There are talks of her being in a mental hospital, getting physically beaten by the men in her life, and starting a life of prostitution. All of which led to the intrigue and interest that has fueled her sudden Internet popularity.

There are many opinions swirling around social networks about Kat Stacks. That her promiscuous and often dangerous lifestyle led to the mistreatment she endures from these men. That she deserves to be abused by these men because of her constant taunting and her blatant disregard of the groupie code of never publicly airing your dirty laundry. Or that she is just a woman scorned chasing after the wrong men. Last of all, that she serves as a cautionary tale about the ills and consequences of a woman scorned ON TWITTER. Whatever your opinion of her is, she is now a topic of conversation all over the world. So much so, that the random guy I met while I was walking my dog felt the need to warn me NOT to give out his number to the public. Like anyone would ever care about a lanky dude from Orange County that owns a somewhat effeminate dog.

UPDATE: The Game has officially been added to the I Hate Kat Stacks fan club. Oh dear.
