Ticket Maps

Sometimes, people have trouble finding their seats.  The simple system of numbers and letters just confuses them and they can’t sit in the right seats.  Of course, people like Cedric wish somebody would be sitting in the wrong seats.

If this idea carries some weight and gets instituted onto ticketing systems for airlines and trains, we just hope this doesn’t cause people to just stop and stare at maps while in the middle of the walkway.  Honestly, how complicated is it to follow the order of letters and numbers?  They’re not mixed up; they’re still in the proper order.  Even if someone is illiterate, they can still match up their seat on their ticket with the signs for each section/row/seat, though we’re not sure they’re headed to the right place if they can’t read the rest of the ticket.  You would still have to count to match up the rows properly, anyway.

The best use for this would be for concerts or sporting events at stadiums and arenas.  Of course, there are already ushers to show you the way to your seats at these.  It kind of makes sense, but then again tickets would have to be pretty huge to accomodate for having a map of stadiums showing your actual seat.  If you just want it to show your section, that’s not better than just asking an usher anyway.

The moral of the story is: learn how to count and learn the alphabet.
