Eat Like a Man
There’s a difference between eating at Dorsia and eating at Denny’s. Sometimes, you dine to impress or be impressed and other times you might dine to just grub and soak up whatever vices you decided to partake in during the course of an evening. Somewhere in between, but closer to the impressive side, is the delicious comfort food that your pops knows how to cook and it really sticks to your ribs. It’s not exactly delicate and doesn’t always have subtle layers, but man does it have texture and flavor.
Esquire invites us all to Eat Like a Man with their blog of that name. Though they’ve featured articles in past issues with this same theme, it’s still just starting up as a blog. So far, we’ve enjoyed the interview with the chefs from Animal in Los Angeles, Top Chef’s Padma Lakshimi’s advice and the cast iron basting nipples[!]. Naturally, their own introduction describes the blog best:
“This is a food blog for everyone, not just men. Even if you’re not a man or you don’t eat like one, we welcome you. It’s just that there are foods that men love and there are ways that men eat that are just different, and Esquire celebrates that. Here on the blog, every day, you’ll find a mix of ideas, interviews, opinions, wisdom, cooking tips, news bits, and recipes. For everybody. Especially men. And often, a cocktail.”
For those of you interested in some Twitter action for the blog, since there isn’t any commenting on it, they got that, too.
