About a month ago I was on my way to Florida for paintball practice when I encountered a random stranger on the plane ride from Atlanta to my final destination.  I asked why he was so excited to be headed to a place with an average age of 80.  His response, he was going to go meet the girl he loved for the very first time.  Expecting something of an e-harmony sort I asked where they had met, he immediately responded “Second Life”, an internet role playing game. He told me that they had already eaten together, danced together, even made love.  Yes, this made the rest of the plane ride excruciatingly strange in my mind. I spotted him once more at the baggage claim where he met his woman for the first time face to face and I had never seen two people more happy.  Romantic in a very weird way.

Anyways, I had come across a dating site called GameCrush specifically made for people who love video games and women and it reminded me of this story.  However, there is one extremely odd aspect about GameCrush, it’s basically a virtual prostitution service where you don’t even get to receive a happy ending.  You pay for short dates on xbox 360 or PS3 online games and are expected to throw some e-credits at the girl at the end of the date.  Those e-credits can then be turned in for cash.  So if you’re a girl who always wanted to make money off men online and didn’t want to have to strip in front of a webcam, this your opportunity.  If you fall into the rare category of a girl who can’t find a guy who likes video games in real life and actually want to use is this for it’s intended purpose, thats cool too.  Hell, I think I might impersonate a girl and try to make some extra cash.
