Throwing Around Cupcakey Goodness

Looking like a combination of the two Coppola siblings (Roman and Sofia), Steven Ilous brings us the video for “Lightworks” by Acid Girls.  Starring creations by Los Angeles based Jamaica’s Cakes, the video features sweet slow motion and delicious rewinds and replays of cakes being exploded and tossed about – dessert being the ammunition of choice in a food fight for these dressed up dolls.

Particularly satisfying is the cake to the face at 1:15.  It reminds us of the sheer joy we had when we’d catch someone uttering the magic words “I don’t know” or “water” on You Can’t Do That On Television.  Then the green slime or water, respectively, would fall on them from above as if it was a decree from the alpha and the omega himself.  Much more interesting of a food fight than one on The City, “Lightworks” is like a visual reunion of siblings… by an outside party.  Does that make it an homage to the family?  Either way, it’s pretty sweet.
