Twitter becomes legitimized with entrance into educational curriculum
The presence of social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter have thus far been considered frivolous past times and it is without a doubt that the majority of the content on both are how shall I say it? Stupid? However, as the popularity of these networking entities continue to grow, their place in our social, professional, and now educational lives cannot be denied.
I believe that Twitter can become an even greater legitimized entity as Vincent Pascual from the University of San Diego School of Law discussed at length its importance in the work place. Pascual prepared a seminar paper discussing Twitter and potential Employment Law issues that hundreds of employers and employees face with regards to what users post online and how that content may positively, or negatively, affect the work place in general.
Pascual thoroughly discusses a number of significant issues that range from individual usage of Twitter and how it is applied in the employment world. What it ultimately comes down to is the value of ideas being spread freely as well as the vast potential of company liability. Pascual intimately discusses trust concerns between employers and employees, revealing how sensitive simple Twitter updates can be.
